Background

The main focus of this project is to design a pair of shoe that is accessible for children live in rural area of Shaoxing, China. The purpose of this project is to build a better community from them through designing a physical product – shoe that solves multiply issues.

Existing Issues

The incineration of leftover materials from nearby factories causes severe pollution

​Most kids have to walk a long way to school alone, which leads to safety issues

Most roads to school in rural areas are unpaved and pretty muddy when raining​

Some kids get their shoes from the unwanted collections of others. Usually those shoes are unfitted and easily worn out

How does natural recycle materials ?
