LUNAR

"Lunar" is a multifunctional light. It is a wall light with a diffuser mounted on an adjustable sliding track.

It is also a bookshelf that can be attached to the wall.

 The design concept behind this project is to recreate the motion of an eclipse for users while turning on/up/down the light. The unfinished circle also represents my way of understanding life. It is imperfect yet beautiful.

- Easy to work with

- Cheap in China

- Environmental friendly

- Sturdy and durable

- Easy to laminate

- Hard for machining

- Less attractive features

- Voids in the core layers

Cultural Connotation

Bamboo plays an important role in traditional Chinese Culture. The hollow structure of bamboo symbolizes qualities such as modesty. Due to the feature of uprightness, bamboo also is endowed with integrity.
